Google Nexus One Specifications

The Google Nexus is One is one of the most hyped mobile phones before its release date. But the phone's hardware and software makes it one of the best android phones around.

The mobile has a 1GHz processor that is pretty quick and a 512 MB RAM to support it. A gorgeous 3.7-AMOLED screen that displays 800x480 pixels and its capacitive touch does the business for a user's delight. Its tiny micro SD slot is capable of storing 32 GB. It has got a gorgeous 5-megapixel camera that features 720x480 video capturing @ 20FPS, LED flash, a dual microphone for noise cancellation and a trackball. All the keyboard activities has to be carried on in the virtual on-screen keyboard. On papers, all these features seem to be very good.
The Nexus One is a very good looking phone that is made of a metallic bezel surrounding the front and side of the phone. The battery cover of the phone is made of a rubbery plastic that feels solid. The phone feels thinner, lighter and curvier than the iphone.

It has the power button and volume button and five other buttons with a track pad below them. The four touch buttons on the phone are used for back, menu and search options. These touch are not expected to be very responsive all the time.

The phone features Android 2.1 OS, the first one to do it. It is expected that in the days to come many phones will follow up using this software. You may find a few animated wallpapers as soon as you switch on the phone. As Gizmodo puts it, there is absolutely no use of these wallpapers which does nothing but drain the phone battery. It also points out that there are several other features in the Nexus that are exaggerated. The technology website (Gizmodo) also feels that google could have spent more of its time in improving the speed and performance.

However there are a number of things in the phone that can be welcomed with both the arms stretched. The all new beta-ish version of voice recolonization that allows you to type almost anything through your voice. The voice recolonization works very well provided you speak slowly and clearly. Almost 80% of the time it works except for a few common Proper Noun words. However the drawback here is that this feature works only online. The virtual keypads offered are not so easy to use when compared to the likes of the iPhones.

The device works really fast thanks to its 1 GHz processor All the services of Google, work pretty fast like the Google Mapping, Gmailing, and other services. There are two microphones, one on the bottom and the other on the back for noise cancellation. These microphones make sure that the call quality of the phone is very good and noise cancellation is effective.

The speaker at the back of the phone is pretty good though not very impressive. The camera is well suited for fast picture takes. It 5-mega-pixel feature is expected to shoot decent pictures thus living upto its expectations.

The Google Nexus is still the best Android phone available in the market. While the current Google phone has been handled by HTC, there are several debates as to who would be launching the Nexus 2 of Google. Well, it seems more likely that HTC itself would rise its hands again.
